Responsible Gaming

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Gambling should be a form of entertainment, enjoyed safely and responsibly. This Policy explains how Platipus supports that aim as a supplier of games to licensed operators.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

1.1. In this Policy, “Platipus” has the meaning given in our Terms of Use. It covers the Platipus brand and each company that the owner of the Platipus brand authorises, from time to time, to develop, supply, license, or otherwise provide games, technology, or services under that brand. A company whose authorisation has ended, or which uses the Platipus brand without authorisation, is not part of Platipus.

1.2. Each Platipus company applies this Policy, and each may rely on it in its dealings with regulators, operators, and others.

1.3. This Policy applies in particular to the Platipus companies holding the following licences, registrations, and approvals. Current details of each are available from the relevant regulator:

  • (a) Great Britain: licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission (gamblingcommission.gov.uk);

  • (b) Malta: licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority (www.mga.org.mt);

  • (c) Romania: licensed by the National Gambling Office, ONJN (www.onjn.gov.ro);

  • (d) Ontario: registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario as a gaming-related supplier (www.agco.ca);

  • (e) Sweden: licensed by Spelinspektionen (www.spelinspektionen.se);

  • (f) Peru: registered with MINCETUR as a linked service provider (www.mincetur.gob.pe); and

  • (g) Italy: games certified for the Italian market in line with the requirements of the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (www.adm.gov.it).

1.4. Where a jurisdiction sets stricter requirements than this Policy, Platipus follows those requirements in that jurisdiction.

2. Our Role

2.1. Platipus operates on a business-to-business (B2B) basis. We do not offer gambling to the public, hold player accounts, or have a contractual relationship with players. Our games reach players only through operators that hold the licences required by the law of each jurisdiction where they offer them.

2.2. Player protection is a shared responsibility. Operators are responsible for player-facing measures, including age verification, account limits, self-exclusion, and monitoring of player behaviour. Platipus is responsible for designing, testing, and supplying its games in a way that supports safe play and helps operators meet their obligations.

2.3. We recognise that, for some people, gambling can lead to loss of control, financial difficulty, and harm that also affects families, friends, and workplaces.

3. Responsible Game Design

3.1. Platipus designs its games so that:

  • (a) game rules, paytables, return to player (RTP), and features are clear and available to players before and during play;

  • (b) outcomes are determined by a certified random number generator and are not adjusted to individual players or their behaviour, and games do not give a false impression of skill or control;

  • (c) a return equal to or less than the stake is not presented as a win, and games do not create misleading near misses;

  • (d) games do not include features designed to encourage players to chase losses, play faster, or play for longer than they intend;

  • (e) themes, characters, and visuals are not designed to appeal primarily or particularly to anyone under the minimum legal gambling age; and

  • (f) games can display information that supports informed play, such as net position and session time, where the operator or jurisdiction requires it.

3.2. Platipus configures its games to meet the game design rules of each jurisdiction where they are supplied. For example, online slots supplied in Great Britain meet the Gambling Commission’s technical standards on minimum game cycle speed, the ban on autoplay, the display of net position and session time, and stake limits.

3.3. Where a jurisdiction requires it, games and their random number generators are tested and certified by accredited testing laboratories before they are supplied, and material changes are re-certified before release.

4. Supporting Operators

4.1. Platipus supplies its games only to operators that hold the licences required by the law of each jurisdiction where they offer them, under written agreements that require them to comply with the responsible gambling obligations of their licences, including national self-exclusion schemes such as GAMSTOP in Great Britain, Spelpaus in Sweden, and MINCETUR’s self-exclusion register in Peru.

4.2. Platipus provides operators with the game functionality and data required by each jurisdiction’s technical standards, so that operators can apply their responsible gaming controls, such as stake and session limits, the immediate closing of a game session, and the monitoring of player behaviour.

4.3. If Platipus becomes aware that an operator is not meeting its responsible gambling obligations, or is offering our games where it is not licensed, Platipus takes the steps available to it under its agreements, which may include requiring the games to be removed or suspending supply.

5. Responsible Marketing

5.1. Platipus markets its games to business partners and industry professionals, not to consumers.

5.2. Marketing materials that Platipus creates or provides to operators and other partners:

  • (a) are not designed to appeal to minors, do not use characters, themes, or people whose primary appeal is to minors, and do not give a significant role to anyone who is, or appears to be, under 25;

  • (b) do not suggest that gambling is a way to solve financial problems, achieve success, or improve social standing; and

  • (c) are provided on the basis that they will be used only in line with the advertising rules of each jurisdiction where they appear, including stricter local restrictions on gambling advertising and bonuses.

6. Age Restrictions

6.1. Our games are not intended for minors. The minimum legal gambling age is 18 in Great Britain, Malta, Romania, Sweden, Peru, and Italy, and 19 in Ontario.

6.2. Operators are responsible for verifying a player’s age before play, including for free-play versions of games where the law requires it.

6.3. Access to demo games on our website is restricted as described in our Terms of Use.

6.4. Parents and guardians can use device-level blocking software to help prevent minors from accessing gambling websites.

7. Our People and Governance

7.1. Staff involved in game design, product development, marketing, and compliance receive responsible gaming training when they join and at least once a year.

7.2. A designated compliance function, reporting to senior management, oversees this Policy and its application across Platipus.

7.3. Platipus reviews this Policy at least once a year, and whenever relevant regulatory requirements change. Each review includes checking that the support services listed in section 9 are current.

7.4. Platipus cooperates with regulators, testing laboratories, operators, and industry bodies to improve player protection.

8. Recognising Gambling Harm

8.1. It may help to review your gambling if you:

  • (a) spend more money or time gambling than you intended;

  • (b) try to win back losses by gambling more;

  • (c) find it hard to stop or cut down;

  • (d) hide your gambling from people close to you;

  • (e) borrow money or face financial difficulty because of gambling;

  • (f) feel stressed, anxious, or low because of gambling; or

  • (g) let gambling interfere with work, relationships, or daily life.

8.2. These signs do not on their own mean that someone has a gambling problem, but they may suggest that support would help.

9. Getting Help

9.1. Platipus does not hold player accounts and cannot set limits or self-exclude players. To set limits, take a break, or self-exclude, please contact the operator where you play. Complaints about a game, including about its outcome, should also be raised with that operator, which handles them under its licence and can refer them to its dispute resolution service where applicable.

9.2. Free and confidential support is available from:

9.3. In other countries, local health services and national gambling helplines can help. Free blocking tools such as Gamban and BetBlocker can also restrict access to gambling websites.
